St
Petersburg Short Tours for Passengers of Ocean
Cruises
If your ocean cruise is docking in St Petersburg, please read this
information carefully. It will explain to you available options for
arranging short tour in St Petersburg. Note, this information does
not apply for passengers of Russian river cruises.
1) Your ship will offer you to join one of city tours organized by
the ship company. It is convenient that you don't have to plan
ahead, but you will pay 2-3 times more than the market price (close
to $2,000 per person) and, you are stuck with a group, which means
that you wait for others and see less of the city. You will not
need Russian visa as your ship will put you on a list of as called
"group visa," which requires you to be back to the ship in the
evening.
2) Then, there are various small-scale operations in St Petersburg
that offer small group tours in the city. Just like your ship, such
operations use "group visas," so you don't have to worry about
obtaining visa to Russia. Price tag of local providers is around
$1,300 for two days of touring in the city. The main minus, once
again, is that you will be stuck with a group and have to return to
the ship at certain time.
3) Third way is offered by "Travel All Russia" - private tour for
$770 without hotel or $1,150 with the hotel. We think it is
important to show you as much of the city as possible. And the only
way to do this is without a group, with a private guide and a
driver. However, you will need visa to Russia in order to
disembark. Good news, is that we will take care of all Russian visa
arrangements for you, at no additional cost. We also offer a hotel
option in case if you prefer to stay off the ship while you are in
the city.
