Goritsy is famous for its almost unreal beauty. Goritsy means hills in Russian as the town stands on a small hill that overlooks a beautiful lake. Goritsy is also a home to one of the oldest men's monasteries in the world - the Kiril-Beloozerskiy Monastery which was founded in 1397.
