Hotel President Arbat Hotel is located in the very heart of
Moscow, right off the famous Arbat street. The hotel is literally
surrounded by famous Moscow sites and restaurants. Two large subway
stations nearby make it easy to get to virtually any corner of
Moscow. This hotel is not expensive compared to most other Moscow
hotels of a similar quality level.
Offering accommodation for only 200 guests, President Arbat is a
relatively small by Moscow standards. But this intimate size offers
a chance for a pleasant and calm stay after eventful days in
Moscow. The hotel has a sauna with a swimming pool, conference
rooms, a beauty center and car rental service.
All rooms are equipped with two beds or a twin size bed. Every room
has air-conditioner, TV-set with cable and satellite channels,
direct-dial phone, fridge. Bathrooms are provided with a bath (or a
shower) and a hair-dryer.The Arbat hotel is located in the
historical centre of Moscow only minutes away from the Red Square
and Kremlin in the city walk area Old Arbat. Most of the rooms have
been recently renovated and refurbished. All rooms are air
conditioned have private bath or shower satellite TV and direct
dial phone. The hotel has brilliant opportunities for conferences
business meeting and seminars negotiations. There is a main dining
room and a small cosy bar. Room service is also available at The
hotel.
"A regular hotel" - Oct 3, 2006 - traveler from

The hotel is a Soviet era one. The location is excellent; you are
150 mt. away from the Arbat st.; moreover, various metro stations
are at a walking distance, as well as many restaurants, hence it's
a perfect located hotel. The hotel itself, although located in the
very downtown, was very quiet and silent. I was in a standard room;
the bathroom was absolutely OK (recently renovated) with brand new
shower, tap etc.; the room showed some age (the parquet was a bit
worn, the furniture I guess is still the same of the USSR, same
with the curtain), but the bed was comfortable (despite of the
typical Russian square pillows!). TV set OK with many Western
channels, the minibar (actually a regular refrigerator) was empty;
good for some who will stay there for some time. Very good buffet
breakfast, full with many Western favorites, but also packed with
Russian stuff, worthy of a try. In a nusthell, a good value for
money (think we are in a city where they ask huge money for dumps)
hotel, great location. I would get back.

We stayed at the Arbat for one night (we were traveling further on)
and found it to be better than expected. I am "picky" when it comes
to hotels, and was apprehensive to be staying at a hotel that was
not an American chain. The Arbat is an old hotel, but very well
kept. Our room was a bit warm (which we found typical in Russia)
and we were unable to figure out how to work the portable air
conditioning unit. We also had difficulty using the phone ... after
reading the in-room directory, we found that a deposit is required
before calls can be made. Many guests hang around the lobby and
smoke, which we were not used to with U.S. non-smoking laws. The
television carried a couple of English language programs, enough to
keep my spouse happy. My husband found his bed uncomfortable (and
he claims to have been bitten by something during the night), but I
was fine after stuffing the bedspread into my pillowcase to
simulate the three pillows I use at home. Nice hot shower with good
water pressure. The included-in-the-rate breakfast buffet was
plentiful, fresh and included alot of items we liked. We noticed a
few Americans in the dining room with just adopted babies ... we
are returning to Russia soon to complete our adoption and will stay
at the Arbat again.
"a better deal in Moscow" - Jul 25, 2005 - traveler from

We stayed at the very reasonably-priced Arbat while
completing the adoption of our child, and they made us feel
comfortable and secure. This older hotel is in a nice Moscow
neighborhood and caters predominately to European businessmen.
However, the staff spoke English quite competently. We were able to
reserve a spacious two-room suite for the price of a typical small
hotel room elsewhere. The windows were large, we had an in-room
refrigerator, and enjoyed a location close to the embassy, subway,
and shopping on Arbat street. The included breakfast buffet was the
most elaborate I have seen. Service and security were excellent.
Tourists might find the location too far for easy walks to the
Kremlin (around 2 miles?), and the hotel lacks some of the
amenities of the more expensive ones, but we preferred this hotel
to several others we have stayed at in Moscow. Highly recommended. | |
