I have never had a more rewarding travel experience...
Our recent trip to Russia was the most wonderful travel experience we have shared together which is saying something since we have visited at least a dozen countries over the years. We chose to visit Russia because I visited as a student in 2008 and found it fascinating. I wanted Gale to share in the experience and our trip was everything we had hoped for and more.
There are so many highlights, but one of the top ones was going inside Lenin’s tomb. This was not part of the scheduled itinerary but we expressed an interest and our guide made it happen. Taking pictures on the exterior as I did before is nice, but actually viewing the preserved body is an experience that left both of us impacted in a way that’s difficult to describe. We recommend the company offer this interior visit as standard; recognizing the time required due to security and planning accordingly (we waited about 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon). If the travelers would rather preserve time for other activities then the guide can adjust accordingly.
Trip planning and organization was superb which we attribute to our travel specialist. He made the process, which can be very tedious, completely worry free. Requirements were requested with plenty of time to react and he was very responsive to inquiries from start to finish. We never worried about how things were going because we knew our guide was taking care of us. He reacted to our request for changes such as an unusual flight schedule and certain adjustments to the itinerary with ease. He is a valuable asset to your company and should be recognized for his superior efforts.
There’s one final note on our SP experience. Our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but she was also very engaging on a personal level. We have a very good sense of who Russians are and how they live by talking with her about her daily life and the lives of her friends and family. This was as rewarding to us as our visits to the Hermitage and Peterhof and guides should be trained accordingly. Many kudos to her and the driver there who lacked English skills but was very personable and drove a roomy Toyota up to the transport task.
As stated in the opening, Gale and I have never had a more rewarding travel experience and that is due not just to the sites visited, but to the people at your company making sure everything ran smoothly. The few hitches can be easily addressed and we will not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone seeking a great travel experience. Thanks so much for making our getaway the best yet.
