Day 1: Arrival in St. Petersburg

Today you arrive in St. Petersburg - the crown jewel of Russia and one of the world's most beautiful cities! Your private driver meets you at the airport and takes you to your centrally located hotel.

The rest of the day is free, so you can either start exploring the fantastic center of St. Petersburg on your own or take a good rest before the rich sightseeing program planned for the following day.

No meals included.

Day 2: Trip to Pushkin

After breakfast you disembark your cruise ship and head for Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo) to explore the brilliant Catherine's Palace that is a striking example of baroque architecture gifted by Peter the Great to his wife Catherine I.

During the tour you walk through the lavish parks and gardens of this outstanding palace and enjoy its gorgeous interiors, including the replica of the world-renowned Amber Room.

After the tour you return to your hotel.

Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 3: Trip to Peterhof

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and travel to the outskirts of St. Petersburg to explore the former summer residence of Russian tsars and the gem of palace architecture - Peterhof.

During the tour you visit the famous Peterhof Palace and take a walk in the beautiful Lower Park, lavishly adorned with 176 fountains of various forms and styles and numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes.

Optional tour: Faberge Museum.

After the tour you are transferred to the river port to board the MS Rostropovich. Upon arrival you enjoy a traditional Bread, Salt & Vodka Ceremony. Entertainment program in the evening.

Day 4: St. Petersburg City Tour & Visit to the Hermitage

Following breakfast you have a guided tour around the most famous attractions of St. Petersburg. During the tour you take a walk through the Split of Basil Island, go inside the Peter and Paul Fortress - a burial place of almost all the Russian emperors and empresses from Peter the Great to Nicholas II and his family, have photo stops near the gorgeous St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Church of Savior on Spilled Blood, and drive along the bustling Nevsky Prospect abundant in fine shops, cafes and museums.

After lunch in the city center you visit one of the largest art museums in the world - the Hermitage Museum. They say that if you were to spend three minutes by each of the exhibits in the Hermitage, it would have taken you three years to see the entire exhibition. But don't worry - you have an experienced guide, who will show you the best rooms and halls of the exhibit within several hours.

After the tour you return on board and start cruising. Captain's Welcome reception and Welcome dinner are served on board. Entertainment program in the evening.

Day 5: Mandrogi Walking Tour

Today you explore Mandrogi - a small village located on the 139-mile-long Svir River. Here you spend a wonderful time walking through this vacation village, enjoying its beautifully-decorated wooden houses and experiencing the traditional mode of life of the Russian countryside.

After the tour you return on board. Entertainment program in the evening.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board.

Day 6: Tour of Kizhi Island

Today you see a real miracle of wooden architecture - the fantastic Kizhi Island. During your walking tour you explore its famous Pogost including the dazzling 22-domed Transfiguration Church built without a single nail, beautiful windmills and ancient Russian wooden houses.

After the tour you return on board. Entertainment program in the evening.

Day 7: Goritsy Sightseeing Tour

Today you arrive in Goritsy - a tiny picturesque settlement near White Lake. Your guided tour includes a visit to the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery that was founded in 1397 and now houses one of the greatest collections of Russian icons in the world.

After the tour you return on board. Entertainment program in the evening.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board.

Day 8: Uglich Sightseeing Tour

Today you arrive in the small town of Uglich, where a historically significant political turmoil known as the Times of Trouble started.

During your city tour you visit the Kremlin territory, the Transfiguration Cathedral and the famous Church of St. Dmitry-on-Blood, built on the site where Ivan the Terrible's son, Dmitry, was murdered in 1591.

After the tour you return on board and continue cruising. Entertainment program in the evening.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board.

Day 9: Moscow City Tour & Visit of the Kremlin

Following lunch you arrive in the brilliant Russian capital - Moscow. You meet your guide and go on an amazing Moscow city tour around its most outstanding attractions. You walk through the beautiful Red Square, take a photo stop near the colorful St. Basil's Cathedral, enter the largest Moscow department store GUM and go inside the Cathedral of Christ the Savior (if time and availability permit).

After lunch in the city center you explore a real Russian miracle and its most famous symbol - the mighty Kremlin. During the tour you visit the famous Square of Four Cathedrals, where you go inside one of its gorgeous cathedrals decorated with magnificent frescoes.

After the tour you return on board. Entertainment program in the evening.

Day 10: Visit to the Museum of Cosmonautics & Metro Ride

Following breakfast you disembark your ship and have a guided tour to an outdoor Exhibition of Achievements of the People's Economy (VDNKh) - a truly remarkable footprint of Soviet architecture and design. Then you go to the Museum of Cosmonautics to learn about the development of Russian space industry, listen about Yury Gagarin's first flight in the space and see the models of the famous Sputnik and Soyuz. 

After lunch at a local restaurant you discover one of the most interesting city sites that is located deep beneath the surface - the Moscow Subway. You have a quick subway ride to taste local life and enjoy the splendid Soviet decoration of its stations. 

After the tour your driver takes you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

Day 11: Visit to the Tretyakov Gallery & Novodevichiy Cemetery

After breakfast you go on a guided tour to the real treasure trove of the Russian fine art, the Tretyakov Gallery, where you spend several amazing hours viewing the gems of its collection, including the famous masterpieces of Ivan Aivazovsky, Mikhail Vrubel and Viktor Vasnetsov.

Then you go to the most picturesque monastery in Moscow, Novodevichiy Convent, to see its Cemetery that is considered one of Moscow’s most prestigious resting places. Many famous Russian political leaders, actors, scientists, poets and musicians are buried there, including Mstislav Rostropovich, Mikhail Bulgakov, Anton Chekhov, Vladimir Mayakovsky and Boris Yeltsin. The cemetery has a park-like ambiance, dotted with small chapels and beautiful monuments, that makes you feel like strolling in the park of sculptures.
