Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Baku

You begin your Caucasian adventure in the largest city in the region - Baku! Your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to a centrally located hotel. You have the rest of the day free to begin exploring the capital of Azerbaijan on your own. ​

Day 2: Baku City Tour

Following breakfast and meeting your guide and driver at the hotel you begin exploring the remarkable city of Baku with a guided city tour.

During which, you enjoy panoramic views of Baku from the Upland Park, visit Memory Alley and explore historical district of Old Baku with its famous sights of the Complex of Shirvanshahs Palace, medieval Caravanserai, Maiden Tower, and central Markets square.

After the tour you leave Baku to discover a renowned landmark of Gobustan National Park, which is situated on a hill in the southeast end of the Greater Caucasus mountain ridge. Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape with its huge collection of rock engravings is one of the two sights in Azerbaijan inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

You also make go inside the Gobustan Museum, also known as the Petroglyph for displaying the drawings on the rock by primitive inhabitants. Here you learn more about the Azerbaijanian first habitats from the amazing evidence of the past: rock paintings, caves – sites of ancient people and objects of material culture. The unique art is depicting people, animals, labor scenes, collective hunting, and dancing.

After an exciting day, your driver transfers you to the hotel for overnight.

Day 3: Sheki Sightseeing

After breakfast and checking out from the hotel, joined by your guide and drive, you travel to a place of fantastic nature - Sheki. 

During the guided tour of the beautiful corner of Azerbaijan, you step into the Palace of Sheki Khans, a former summer residence of khans. You explore the one-of-a-kind palace was built in the 18th century without a single nail. You then proceed to astonishing Sheki Castle, which was had a safeguarding function because of its long and thick walls.

After the tour your driver takes you to a hotel for a check-in and overnight.

Day 4: Tour to Kakheti Region & Wine Tastings

After breakfast your guide and driver transfer you to the second country of your Caucasian tour.

The first stunning stop of the Georgian part of the tour is Signagi - one of the tiniest cities in Georgia. Signagi is often called the "City of Love" because it is impossible not to fall in love with its breathtaking landscapes, charming narrow cobbled streets and pastel houses located all in the heart of wine-growing regions. During the tour you pay a visit Bodbe Monastery - the landmark of the 9th century and houses a nunnery. Monastery's gardens and beautiful basilica preserves its history of being coronation venue by the Kings of Kakheti.

Secondly you travel deeper into Kakheti region which is known for its winemaking traditions and warm hospitality and visit a wine house of Gurjanni. During the visit you explore the inside of the wine house and enjoy a delicious lunch accompanied by a perfectly paired glass of Georgia's finest wine, straight out of a barrel. 

Following lunch at Gurjanni, you proceed to the last stop of the day - Tsinandali. The alluring Georgian village is home to the first winery in the country - Shumi winery.

After learning more about the regional wine you are transferred to your hotel in Tbilisi for check-in.

Day 5: Tbilisi City Tour

Today after breakfast you meet with your guide and driver to depart for a day full of sightseeing in Tbilisi.

You start your tour in Metekhi historical district where you visit an ancient landmark built in the 13th century - the Cathedral of Metekhi.

The cathedral is located on a cliff which offers picturesque panoramic views of the capital and the river Mtkvari.

After the visit to the ancient district, you get a chance to see the city from above with a cable car ride up to the Narikala Fortress. Interesting fact about the sight is that it was built before Tbilisi itself and is often referred to us the mother of Tbilisi.

Another highlight of your day is the second chance to witness the beauty of Georgian capital from above with a funicular ride up to the holy mountain Mtatsminda.

Later you proceed back to the city center to continue exploring landmarks like Bridge of Peace, Anchiskhati, sulfur bath district and finish the tour wandering through the charming streets of Chardin and Leselidze.

Your driver takes you back to the hotel for a moment of rest. You then get ready for a traditional dinner and a Folk show.

Your driver takes you to the venue and after an exciting evening of learning about Georgian customs, he transfers you back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 6: Discovering the Beauty of Gudauri, Ananuri & Kazbegi

Following breakfast and a check out from the hotel and meet your guide and driver to embark on an exciting trip following one of the most scenic mountain roads in the world - Georgian Military Road.

You firstly stop to visit a castle complex of Ananuri, located on the Agragbi river. The purpose of the landmark, built in the 17th century, was to control the road below and now the fortress impresses visitors with its beautiful surroundings and the architecture reflecting its rich history.

Then you proceed to a second stop of the day - Gudauri, the highest place on the highway. The beautiful village is a great place to take in the frosty scenery of Greater Caucasus Mountain Range.

After a short stop the highest village on your scenic road, you continue to Kazbegi, where you see Gergeti Chruch.

Note: trek up to the church or hire a 4x4 for an additional cost.

Your driver transfers you to a beautiful hotel at the base of Mount Kazbek.

Day 7: Exploring Mtskheta, Chacha Tasting & Churchkhela Masterclass

Following breakfast and meeting your guide and private driver you begin your journey to explore an ancient Georgian city and UNESCO World Heritage Site - Mtskheta. During the tour you step into a historic Svetitskhovei Cathedral built in the 11th century. The landmark astonishes you with its unique interior design.

After the rich sightseeing of Mtskheta, you enjoy a well-deserved traditional lunch in a local restaurant.

Following lunch you learn the secret recipe of the signature brandy drink of Georgia - chacha, during a tasting experience. The brandy taste still lingers when you begin discovering the art behind another Georgian signature - churckhela delicatessen.

Your private driver takes you to central Tbilisi hotel for a check-in.

Day 8: Tour to Uplistsikhe Caves & Gori

Following breakfast you meet your guide and driver at the hotel lobby and depart for an exciting excursion in Uplistsikhe Cave town and Gori.

Your first stop is an ancient rock-hewn town - Uplistsikhe. One of the oldest towns in Georgia has had an important role to play in the history of the country. Mongolian invasions has left the rocky town abandoned and demaged. Now the one-of-a-kind rocky caves complex of Uplistsike is tremendously popular among Georgian tourists.

After seeing rock art in Uplistsikhe you are transferred to Gori to learn about its relation to Joseph Stalin. The famous Russian political leader was born in 1879 and ived in Gori until the age of 4. You visit the Museum of Stalin, previously his family's residence, and see the railway car which Stalin used to travel throughout the country. The visit to Gori is an enthralling trip back in time, exploring Soviet history.

In the evening you are transferred to your hotel in Tbilisi and have some free time.

Day 9: Visits to Haghpat and Sanahin Monasteries & Arrival to Yerevan

Today after breakfast with your guide and driver you set out to discover the third treasure of the Caucasus - Armenia. Before reaching the capital you stop to discover couple charming monasteries. 

After crossing the Georgian-Armenian border in Sadakhlo, you arrive at Sanahin Monastery, The name of the landmark which was built in the 10th century, "Sanahin" is translated from Armenian as "this one is older than that one". The translation meaning is actually referring to the nearby Haghpat Monastery, often described as a masterpiece of religious architecture and a major center of learning in the Middle Ages. 

After the tour of the two historic monasteries, you finally arrive at the Armenian capital - Yerevan, where you check in to a downtown hotel.

Day 10: Visits to Armenian Monasteries & Hellenistic Garni Temple

Today after breakfast you meet your guide and driver to discover more of beautiful Armenia

Firstly you are taken outside Yerevan to visit the Khor Virap Monastery, a famous pilgrimage site located right at the foot of a biblical Mount Ararat. Here you enjoy the panoramic views of Ararat Valley and the mountain.

After the visit you proceed to the pagan temple of the early Armenian civilization in the village of Garni. This breathtaking temple overlooking the beautiful Azat Valley used to be a place where the Armenian royal dynasties would reside during summers and now is a popular tourist destination.

Your last stop of today is at the beautiful Geghard monastery partially carved out of the adjacent mountain.

After the visit you are transferred back to your hotel in Yerevan. The rest of the day is free.

Day 11: Yerevan City Tour & Visit to Etchmiadzin

Following breakfast and meeting your guide and driver you start your day with a city tour of Yerevan.

You discover the most famous landmarks and sites of the Armenian capital in just few hours with the help of your guide. Your tour also includes a visit to the Matenadaran Institute of Manuscripts, a unique treasure trove housing the world’s richest collection of ancient manuscripts and books.

After the capital tour you are taken to the spiritual center of Armenia - Vagharshapat. The ancient capital is where you learn about the cathedral and churches of Etchmiadzin and the archaeological site of Zvartnots which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the visit you visit the first cathedral built in Armenia and one of the oldest in the world, the famous Etchmiadzin Cathedral. You also see the well-known Saint Hripsime Church that is the finest example of classic Armenian church architecture. You end the tour of Vagharshapat by paying a visit to the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral built in the 7th century.

After the tour of the spiritual center you visit another sacred place for Armenians - Ararat Brandy Factory. Here you not only learn how Armenians make their signature drink but get to taste it too!

Afterwards, your driver takes you back to your hotel in Yerevan.

Day 12: Departure from Yerevan

This is the final day of your Caucasian adventure - the tour of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. After breakfast your driver meets you in the hotel lobby and takes you to the airport for your flight back home. We hope you enjoyed your tour with us and would be honored to see you soon again!
