Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moscow

Welcome to the legendary capital of Russia - Moscow! Your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free to relax in your cozy room, dine in one of the nearby restaurants or start exploring the amazing city center on your own.

Day 2: Visiting Vladimir & Bogolyubovo

After breakfast you check out from your hotel. Your private driver picks you up at your hotel in Moscow and takes you to Vladimir.

Upon arrival you meet your guide and enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour. During your tour around Vladimir you go inside the Dormition Cathedral that preserves the world famous frescoes of Andrei Rublev, explore the architectural complex of the Cathedral of St. Dimitriy and visit the Museum of Crystal, Lacquer Miniatures and Embroidery.

Your tour then continues to Bogolyubovo, a town located in the outskirts of Vladimir meaning “loved by God” in Russian. This ancient town was founded in 1158 by order of prince Andrey Bogolyubsky. According to a legend, the prince spent the night on this spot and saw Virgin Mary who ordered him to found the settlement and build a monastery. During the tour you get to see the main UNESCO sites of the area: the Church of the Intervention, the ruins of Prince Bogolyubsky’s castle with its Staircase Tower, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin and the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl.

After lunch at a local restaurant your driver takes you to Suzdal that is one of the most famous towns of the Golden Ring. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the evening you enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3: Touring Suzdal & Kostroma

Following breakfast you check out from the hotel and meet your guide at the hotel lobby. Today you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Suzdal known as a city-museum of the Golden Ring for a large number of preserved historical monuments of ancient Russian art and architecture.

During the tour you see the brilliant architectural complex of the Kremlin and its gem - the beautiful Chamber of the Christ, explore the ensemble of the Monastery of Saint Euthymius and visit the famous Museum of Wooden Architecture.

You are then transferred to the historic city of Kostroma built at the confluence of the Volga and Kostroma Rivers. Upon arrival you enjoy lunch in a local restaurant followed by a guided city tour that includes a visit to the architectural complex of the Ipatiev Monastery.

Later your driver takes you to your final destination of this day - Yaroslavl. Upon arrival you are transferred to your centrally located hotel for overnight. In the evening you enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Day 4: Exploring Yaroslavl & Sergiev Posad

Today after breakfast you explore one of the oldest Russian cities - Yaroslavl. During your guided city tour you explore the Spassky Monastery where you see the icon Transfiguration of the Savior, visit the wonderful Church of Elijah the Prophet with incredible mosaic decoration, and participate in a costumed reception at the governor's house.

After lunch at a local restaurant your driver takes you to Sergiev Posad known as "Russian Vatican" for its magnificent blue and golden cupolas scattered all around the town. Upon arrival you enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour around the most cherished treasures of Sergiev Posad, that includes a visit to the spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy - the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius.

After the tour you are transferred to your hotel in Moscow. Upon arrival you check-in and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 5: Moscow City Tour, Visiting the Kremlin & Armoury Chamber

After breakfast you have a welcome meeting with your guide and the rest of the group followed by a wonderful city tour around the most magnificent Moscow landmarks.

During the tour you take a walk at the beautiful Red Square, go inside the colorful St. Basil's Cathedral, admire a beautiful facade of the famous GUM department store. If time allows you see the spectacular Cathedral of Christ the Savior and enjoy one of the best city views at Sparrow Hills.

You then proceed to one of the most outstanding Moscow icons - the Kremlin. Together with your guide you go inside the Kremlin walls to visit its famous Armoury Chamber that houses a unique collection of crown jewels, stunning coronation finery, hand-forged armor and weapons, royal carriages and sleighs, and world-famous Fabergé eggs.

After the tour you are transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 6: Exploring the Novodevichy Convent & Tretyakov Gallery

Following breakfast you check out from the hotel. You meet your guide and driver and enjoy a guided tour to one of the most beautiful Russian monasteries - the Novodevichy Convent.

During the tour you explore the unique interiors of the Convent and visit its Cemetery that is considered one of Moscow’s most prestigious resting places. Many famous Russian political leaders, actors, scientists, poets and musicians are buried there, including Mstislav Rostropovich, Mikhail Bulgakov, Anton Chekhov, Vladimir Mayakovsky and Boris Yeltsin. The cemetery has a park-like ambiance, dotted with small chapels and beautiful monuments, that makes you feel like strolling in the park of sculptures.

Your tour then continues to the world-famous treasure trove of Russian fine art, the Tretyakov Gallery. Here you spend several amazing hours viewing the gems of its collection, including the famous masterpieces of Ivan Aivazovsky, Mikhail Vrubel and Viktor Vasnetsov.

Later you explore one of the most interesting sites in Moscow hidden deep beneath the surface - the Moscow Subway. You have a quick subway ride to taste local life and enjoy the splendid decorations of its stations, which are often called "the underground palaces of Moscow".

After the tour you are transferred to the train station where you board an overnight train that takes you to Kazan in comfort and safety (2nd class train tickets included).

Day 7: Kazan City Tour

In the morning after breakfast you arrive in Kazan - the beautiful capital of the Republic of Tatarstan and the center of Tatar culture in Russia. Upon arrival your guide and driver meet you at the train station platform and take you on a city tour around the most prominent attractions of Kazan with the historical ensemble of the Kazan Kremlin as a highlight.

During the tour you see the main treasures of the complex, including one of the largest mosques in Russia - the Qol Sharif Mosque, the leaning Soyembika Tower, the Annunciation Cathedral and the Governor's Palace. Later you enjoy lunch with a Tatar cuisine master class in a city restaurant.

After the tour your driver takes you to your centrally located hotel for check-in, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8: Day Tour to Bolgar

Today after breakfast you meet your guide and driver to go on a day trip. Together you head to the outskirts of Kazan to see the outstanding Bolgar Historical and Archaeological Complex located in the Spassky District.

This historical and archeological site is set on the left bank of the Volga River about 140 km from Kazan and is a well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex includes the remains of the medieval city of Bolgar, which was the first capital of the Golden Horde in the 13th century. Bolgar is an early settlement of the Volga-Bolgars civilization that existed between the 7th and 15th centuries AD.

During the tour you get to see the main sights of the complex including the Bolgar ancient settlement. You are treated to lunch onsite and get to visit the Museum of the Bolgar Civilization and enter the White Mosque (entrance tickets included).

After the tour your driver takes you back to your hotel in Kazan. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 9: Flight to St. Petersburg

Following breakfast you check out from the hotel and meet your driver, who takes you to the Kazan airport for your flight to St. Petersburg - Russia's beautiful cultural capital, often referred to as the "Venice of the North". The duration of your flight is about 2 hours.

Upon arrival you are met by your driver and taken to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Breakfast is included.

Day 10: St. Petersburg City Tour & Boat Ride

After breakfast you meet your guide at the hotel lobby and go on an amazing panoramic city tour around the most cherished gems of St. Petersburg, including Palace Square, the Hermitage Museum, Nevsky Prospect and many other popular attractions. You enter the fabulous St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood.

During the tour you also visit the Peter and Paul Fortress - a burial place of almost all the Russian emperors and empresses from Peter the Great to Nicholas II and his family.

Later you enjoy a private boat ride along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg to see the city from a completely new perspective.

Day 11: Tour of the Hermitage Museum & Peterhof

Early in the morning following breakfast you meet your guide at the hotel lobby and go to the legendary Hermitage Museum.

The Hermitage houses a unique collection of world art, including the masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, El Greco, Francisco Goya and Thomas Gainsborough in the halls of the Winter Palace.

They say that if you were to spend three minutes by each of the exhibits in the Hermitage, it would have taken you three years to see the entire exhibition. But don't worry - you have an experienced guide, who will show you the best rooms and halls of the exhibit within several hours.

You then travel to the outskirts of St. Petersburg to explore the former summer residence of Russian tsars and the gem of palace architecture - Peterhof.

During the tour you visit the famous Bath Cottage and take a walk in the beautiful Lower Park, lavishly adorned with 176 fountains of various forms and styles and numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes.

The highlight of the tour is a unique hydrofoil ride back to St. Petersburg. Upon arrival you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 12: Day Trip to Veliky Novgorod

Early in the morning after breakfast you meet your driver who takes you to the train station, where you board a train that takes you to Veliky Novgorod, sometimes called "the Birthplace of Russia". Upon arrival in about 3 hours you are met by your guide and driver. Together you go on a sightseeing tour around the city's main attractions.

Veliky Novgorod stands on Volkhov River, the main water way of the famous medieval trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks. The city was Russia's first capital in the 9th century, as well as a center for Orthodox spirituality, Russian democracy, literacy and architecture. The city boasts medieval monuments, churches and monasteries.

During the tour you see the city's main attractions including the Kremlin, the Cathedral of St. Sophia, Yaroslav's Court, the St. George's Monastery, and visit the Wooden Architecture Museum.

After lunch in a local restaurant you return to the train station for your transfer back to St. Petersburg. Your driver meets you upon arrival and takes you to your hotel for overnight. The rest of the day is free.

Day 13: Departure from St. Petersburg

This is the final day of your amazing tour of Russia's UNESCO treasures. After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your private driver takes you to the airport for your flight back home.
