What To Know

  • The currency used in Russia is the Russian Ruble and the Mongolian tugrik in Mongolia. Although debit cards are widely accepted, it is good to have some cash on you for minor purchases.
  • Since you'll be staying at many hotels along the way, not only on the train, it is wise to have smaller luggage or a carry on to take with you for overnights at the hotels (opposed to all of your suitcases which you can leave in the lockable private train car).
  • Make sure to pack comfortable walking shoes as you'll spend many hours exploring major sights on foot.
